Mr. K's Bio
My name is Mark Kafouros and I am entering my 39th year of teaching, 35 of those years right here at Deer Valley HS. I was born in The Garden State, New Jersey, and migrated to the Grand Canyon State in 1975 where I attended Arizona State University.
I have been fortunate to be part of this great campus for many years. I have served as Department Chair of the fabulous Social Studies Dept, and have taught A.P. American History and World History Honors over the past 11 years.
On a personal note, I got married on the beautiful island of Maui in 2009, July 28th to be exact. My lovely wife Rochelle and I could not have chosen a more beautiful location, other than the island of Santorini!
On a personal note, I am very thankful for having the opportunity to inspire young people and hopefully have made a difference in their lives. As I enter my final year of teaching, I cannot imagine having any other career over the past 39 years other than that of being an educator. For that alone I am very thankful.
As I have stated numerous times, we are a family here at Deer Valley. OPA!
